Well, it has sat,
and sat
and sat.
Is it road worthy?
Is it worth fixing?
What to do?
Over a month
of
sitting.

And we have decided...
Let's try it.
Let's get it going
and
see
what we can do with it.
So,
the old girl is going to
be used again.
Not me, mind you.
the camper!
Thrift store shopping,
I found these curtains.
Let me tell you,
I was a bit nervous
about my $12
investment.
Would they fall apart in the washer?
But they washed up great
and
this week,
I start scrubbing and painting.
I got paint at Lowes yesterday
and a couple of tiles to try on the floor.
And this...

My favorite thrift shop,
Barbara is always ready to show me her latest find.
Saturday, was oilcloths.
This one called my name!
and
She gave it to me!
Saturday was my birthday,
she didn't know that,
but what a great present!
I am not sure where I am going to use it.
My girls think it is tacky,
but Gracelyn?
She think that Momma has great taste!
She loves the colors!
She can't wait to camp!

Before pics

"Cause you know you just have to have them!

I think JWS is scared!

He is saying words like
battery,
axle,
inverter,
propane tanks,
leaking roofs,
missing taillights.
rust.

I am saying words like
scrub,
paint,
sew,
decorate,
upholster.

Don't my words sound way more fun?

And way less work,

than his?

Gracelyn was mainly impressed with
"that tiny little oven"

And so it begins

For several years, I have been wanting an old camper.
One to restore,
a fixer-upper,
a project.
This one was dropped in my lap.
A little bigger than what I had planned,
but really,
with six grandkids all under the age of six,
my friend and former camper owner pointed out,
"You are going to need the room!"
So,
JWS jumped at the idea.
Not sure about what drugs he might be taking...
but we'll address that later.

Today,
it came home.

I hope to blog the process,
the successes,
the laughs,
and even
when
JWS and start throwing things at one another.
(which is bound to happen)
I have decorating ideas.
But first we'll clean.
It has been setting for three years.
It needs a good cleaning.

Want to follow along?
C'mon, you know you do!
